Governor Aliyu Signs 2025 Budget Into Law
The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has signed the state’s ₦526 billion 2025 budget into law.
Governor Aliyu said the budget titled ‘ Transformational and Infrastructural Budget’ would intensify his administration’s efforts to execute people-oriented projects.
Naija News reported that the budget’s total was ₦526,882,142,484.39 (Five hundred and twenty-six billion, eight hundred and eighty-two million, one hundred and forty-two thousand, four hundred eighty-four Naira and Thirty-nine Kobo).
“Today, I am proud that I have signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. This action represents our renewed commitment to implementing transformative projects that improve the lives of our citizens.
“Building on the successes of 2024, we will intensify our efforts to execute people-centered initiatives and continue our fight against banditry and criminality in Sokoto State,” he said.
The Sokoto Governor, Aliyu, commended the State’s House of Assembly for speedy passage of the budget.
“I would like to thank the State Assembly for their dedication to our shared vision, as well as the citizens for their prayers and unwavering support. Together, we will keep driving progress and prosperity,” he stated.
During the presentation of the budget to the state’s House on Tuesday, December 3, he assured it would address key issues outlined in the nine priority areas of his administration: Security, Religious Affairs, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Water Supply, Empowerment, Economy, and Local Government Autonomy.
