Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has paid a visit to Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, to commiserate with him over the loss of his son and mother.
Naija News reports that Namadi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost his son in a road crash barely 24 hours after his mother died of an illness.
In a post via X on Thursday, Obi, the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, said he paid a solidarity visit to Namadi while on his New Year engagements.
Peter Obi also prayed that God would grant Governor Namadi and his family the strength and solace to endure this difficult period and find comfort in the love and support of those around them.
He wrote, “In continuation of my New Year engagements, I visited Jigawa State to commiserate with and stand in solidarity with my brother, the Governor, His Excellency Mallam Umar A. Namadi, during this difficult time as he mourns the painful loss of both his mother and his son. My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and the people of Jigawa as they navigate this profound grief.
“May Almighty Allah protect, bless, grant him and his family the strength and solace to endure this difficult period and find comfort in the love and support of those around them.
“May Almighty Allah forgive the sins of the dead and grant them Aljanna Firdausi.”
