Governor Abdullahi Sule

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has officially dissolved the state executive council, which includes his commissioners, and has terminated the appointment of Barrister Muhammad Aliyu-Ubamdoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Additionally, all senior special assistants, special assistants, and personal assistants have also been dismissed.

Naija News understands that the governor communicated this decision during a special emergency executive meeting held at Government House in Lafia on Friday, shortly following the visit of Vice President Kashim Shetima, who was in the state for a one-day working engagement to inaugurate various projects.

A senior government official, who requested to remain unnamed, informed Daily Trust that while the specific reasons for the dissolution remain unclear, the governor is recognized for his efforts in restructuring the administration of the state.

In 2021, Sule similarly dissolved the state executive council, emphasizing the necessity for a more effective and efficient governance framework.

“As the situation unfolds, citizens of Nasarawa State await further clarification on the implications of this decision and the future direction of the state’s administration,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Friday approved the appointment of forty-five permanent secretaries and three executive secretaries in the state.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement released by the state Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade.

The appointments, announced in a document signed by the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, include significant changes across various sectors.

Sixteen Permanent Secretaries have been deployed into the mainstream civil service, while six new Inspectors General of Education, six Permanent Secretaries in the health sector, and seven Permanent Secretaries in the local government sector have also been appointed.

Additionally, one new Permanent Secretary has been appointed as Clerk of the House of Assembly, a new Surveyor General has been appointed, and nine new Tutors General have been named.
