'It Is Explicit Threat' - Peter Obi's Ex-SSG, Obaze Condemns Morka's Words

A former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, under Peter Obi’s tenure as governor, Oseloka Obaze, has condemned the utterance of Felix Morka against Obi.

Naija News reported that the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Morka, on Saturday, described the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as an irrational being.

He made the statement while reacting to Obi’s State of the Nation address on New Year Day. The former governor of Anambra decried hardship in the country occasioned by President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.

Among other issues, Obi called on the President to suspend any plan to impose more tax on Nigerians. He also called on the President to travel around the country to have a first-hand account of the hardship citizens face on a daily.

He further emphasized the need for President Tinubu to tackle food insecurity, banditry and hardship in the country.

According to Morka, Peter Obi‘s address was a wrong narrative aimed at misforming the citizens. He argued that contrary to Obi’s stance, the economy was recording significant positive progress in all sectors.

And I think that at this point, whatever he gets, he needs to manage it,” the APC spokesman added.

In his reaction, Obaze stated that Morka‘s words were a threat and must be held to account in the case of any liability.

Free speech has its limits: and there’s a fine divide between free speech and hate speech and threats. The recent utterances by Felix Morka against Peter Obi connote implicit and explicit threats. No one tells a messenger how to deliver his message, but vicarious liability is real,” he said.
