Kano: Gov Yusuf Appoints Seven Commissioners, Six Permanent Secretaries

In a bid to strengthen governance, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, swore in seven new commissioners and six permanent secretaries on Monday.

Naija News reports that the ceremony, held at the Government House, also witnessed the inauguration of 13 special advisers and was attended by dignitaries and supporters of the NNPP.

The newly sworn-in commissioners include Ibrahim Wayya (Information), Shehu Wada Sagagi (Investment, Commerce and Industry), Dahiru Muhammad Hashim (Environment), Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya (Finance), Gaddafi Shehu (Power and Sustainable Energy), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (Rural and Community Development), and Nura Iro Maaji (Public Procurement).

Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of dedication and commitment among the appointees, stating, “Your appointments were made after careful selection of capable individuals who can contribute to our efforts in achieving good governance in the state.

“Our administration will continue to prioritise infrastructure, education, health, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and enhanced agriculture.”

The governor also praised the State House of Assembly for its unwavering support in advancing the state’s development agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, Shehu Wada Sagagi, expressed gratitude for the governor’s trust.

He pledged that they would work diligently to meet the expectations of the administration and the people of Kano State.
