President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday night after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in Lagos State.

His return also followed his participation as the Special Guest of Honour at the inauguration of Ghana’s newly elected President, John Dramani Mahama.

The president had arrived in Lagos on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, to celebrate the holiday season.

During his stay, he was warmly received at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and other cabinet members.

While in Lagos, Tinubu engaged in private activities to mark the festive season. His trip came shortly after he presented the 2025 national budget, amounting to ₦47.9 trillion, during a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has assured Ghana’s newly sworn-in President, John Mahama, of Nigeria’s unwavering support in fostering national development and strengthening bilateral relations between the two West African nations.

Tinubu made the statement on Tuesday during Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony in Accra, following his victory in Ghana’s presidential election.

The President of Nigeria while speaking at the ceremony, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two countries, noting that Mahama’s leadership heralds a new era of prosperity and mutual progress.
