Sanwo-Olu Signs ₦3.37 Trillion Lagos Budget For 2025
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law, setting the stage for the continuation of his administration’s developmental projects.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, announced the signing on Thursday via a post on his X handle, confirming the budget size as ₦3.366 trillion.
The Lagos State House of Assembly had earlier approved the budget on Monday following a presentation by Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh, chairman of the Joint Committee on Appropriation and Finance.
The budget allocates ₦1.295 trillion for recurrent expenditure and ₦2.071 trillion for capital projects.
Hon. Olumoh emphasized the House’s commitment to driving Lagos’s development through strategic allocation.
“The passage of this budget reflects the commitment of the Lagos State House of Assembly to ensuring continued growth and development in the state,” he said.
During a sitting presided over by the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, the Assembly approved the budget following a voice vote.
Speaker Obasa subsequently directed the Clerk of the House, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko, to transmit a clean copy of the bill to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his assent.
“This budget is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of my colleagues. I commend them for their dedication in ensuring its swift passage,” Speaker Obasa said in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Eromosele Ebhomele.
