'Every Lie Has An Expiration Date' - Sowore Knocks FG Over Explanation On Why Tinubu Didn't Speak At COP 28 Summit In Dubai

The 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for what he describes as the “total mismanagement” of Nigeria’s resources.

Sowore argued that the escalating hunger and worsening infrastructure across the country highlight the government’s failure to effectively utilize the funds generated from the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Speaking on Channels TV on Thursday, the human rights activist pointed to the rising levels of hunger and the worsening state of infrastructure across the country as evidence of the government’s failure to utilize funds from the removal of fuel subsidies effectively.

He said, “There is total mismanagement of the resources of the country and I am not saying this because that is what people want to hear.

“It is because we were told as of a year ago when they took over power, the first decision they made was that they are going to remove subsidy and that whatever they saved from subsidy would be applied to managing the economy better to bring about prosperity, to bring about development.”

Reflecting on a recent visit to his home state of Ondo, Sowore shared his dismay at the deplorable condition of road infrastructure and the alarming levels of poverty.

All of that cannot be shown anywhere in the country. I just came back from my state, Ondo State.

“The state of road infrastructure is the worst I have seen in a long time. I have not seen poverty like I have seen in recent times,” he added.
