Tinubu Decorates His ADC, Nurudeen Yusuf With Colonel Rank
President Bola Tinubu’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC), Nurudeen Yusuf, has been promoted to colonel in the Nigerian Army.
Naija News reports that the decoration ceremony was held at the State House, Abuja, with President Tinubu personally decorating Yusuf.
The President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, announced the development in a tweet on Thursday, January 9, 2025, accompanied by videos of the ceremony.
Yusuf, who assumed duty as Tinubu’s ADC in May 2023, was initially appointed lieutenant colonel. His promotion to colonel comes as recognition of his dedication and service to the presidency.
The promotion adds to Yusuf’s growing list of achievements. In July 2024, he was named the new traditional ruler of Ilemona town in Oyun Local Government Area, Kwara State, following the death of his father, Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, in May 2023.
Despite his appointment as the monarch-in-waiting of Ilemona, Yusuf has continued to serve as the ADC to President Tinubu, appointing a regent to oversee traditional duties until he assumes the throne.
The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, officially presented a staff of office to Yusuf on July 13, 2024, further solidifying his status as the heir to the throne.
President Tinubu, on Thursday congratulated Yusuf and his family after decorating him with the new rank.
