Pep Guardiola Ends 30 Years Relationship With Wife, Cristina Serra
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, 53, has reportedly separated from his wife, Cristina Serra after 30 years of love affairs.
This marked the end of their marriage, which began in an intimate ceremony near Barcelona in 2014.
Spanish outlet Sport reported their split, revealing that the couple had been living separately for over five years, following Serra’s move back to Barcelona with one of their three daughters, Valentina, 17, as Guardiola continued with his work in Manchester.
Guardiola and Serra, who have been together since meeting in 1994, share two other children: Maria, 24, and Marius, 22. Despite the geographical distance, the couple maintained a close relationship, often seen together in public events over the years.
According to reports, the decision to part ways was made in December, with only their inner circle initially aware of the situation. Trusted friends and family have been asked to respect their privacy regarding further details.
In June 2023, Serra showed her support for Guardiola at the Champions League final in Istanbul, where Manchester City secured victory against Inter Milan, completing a remarkable Treble. They were also photographed together at Wimbledon in July, highlighting the enduring connection despite living apart.
Guardiola has frequently praised Serra, acknowledging her significant influence on his life in various aspects, particularly fashion. In a January 2024 remark, he expressed his admiration, stating, “My wife is the best in the world at many things, especially fashion,” demonstrating the respect he holds for her insights.
Serra relocated to Barcelona in 2019 to focus on her family’s fashion business, Serra Claret, which features brands often worn by Guardiola. He also makes regular trips to Spain to visit Serra and their children, showcasing his commitment to family.
Despite their separation, reports in Spain revealed that the couple’s relationship has been described as “totally cordial, stable, and friendly”.
