Banker Killed After Family Paid Kidnappers Ransom In Anambra

A woman who is said to be a banker has been reportedly murdered by kidnappers in Anambra State following the receipt of ransom from her family.

Naija News learnt that the victim, known only as Ifeoma, was killed in Onitsha.

In a Facebook update on Tuesday, January 14, a popular Human Rights Advocate, Harrison Gwamnishi, stated that the assailants killed her and abandoned her body near Ideani junction, situated along the Nnobi/Alor road.

Gwamnishi also shared an image of the woman’s body found on the roadside.

“Ifeoma, a banker was kidnapped in Anambra State. Ransom was demanded, and the family paid, but her abductors still k!lled her and dumped her body around along Ideani junction Nnobi/Alor road Anambra.

“Lives are being taken daily, and it’s sad nothing is being done to end all the killings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep folding our hands and doing nothing, it will may get to you,” he wrote.

The spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, has verified the situation, emphasizing that the body has been removed from the roadway.

Ikenga said, “The command received the information about an abandoned female corpse found along the Nnobi-Alor Road allegedly dumped by suspected kidnappers.

“The corpse has been evacuated, the pictures have been escalated and investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim.”
