President Donald J Trump has been sworn-in as the 47th President of the United States of America (USA).

Naija News reports that J.D. Vance was also sworn-in as the Vice President of the US at the Capitol Hill.

The swearing-in ceremony had in attendance outgone President Joe Biden and former Vice President and Democrat Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris.

Former US Presidents, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were also in attendance.

Naija News reports that Trump oath of office as the 47th President of the US was administered by Chief Justice John Roberts. His running mate, JD Vance, was sworn in by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, marking a remarkable political comeback for Trump after previous felony convictions.

In his inauguration address, Trump declared, “The golden age of America begins right now,” signaling a bold agenda for his administration.

According to incoming White House officials, Trump is set to sign several executive actions immediately, including initiating steps to end birthright citizenship and declaring a national emergency at the US-Mexico border.

Sources have also indicated to CNN plans to issue pardons for some January 6 rioters on his first day in office.

The inauguration was attended by a mix of political leaders, former presidents, and influential billionaires, including Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Country music star Carrie Underwood delivered a stirring rendition of “America the Beautiful” during the ceremony.

Before the transfer of power, outgone President Joe Biden issued a series of pardons, including for Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of Congress involved in the January 6 investigation.

Biden also issued preemptive pardons for his brothers, James and Frank, his sister Valerie, and their spouses, concluding his presidency with these controversial clemency decisions.
