President Bola Tinubu has appointed Zahrah Audu as the new Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

Naija News reports that the appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on Monday.

Akume noted that the move aims to invigorate Nigeria’s economic landscape by leveraging Audu’s expertise in business development and innovation.

Zahrah Audu replaces Jumoke Oduwole, who now serves as the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Reflecting on the transition, Akume stated, “Zahrah is an entrepreneur and technology expert. She is expected to bring her experience in business development, innovation, and investment promotion to her new role.”

Audu, confirming her new position on her LinkedIn page, expressed gratitude and outlined her vision for strengthening Nigeria’s position as a global investment destination.

Impressive Credentials And Strategic Focus

Audu boasts a robust academic and professional background. She holds a degree in software engineering and a business management qualification from a prestigious United Kingdom institution.

Before her current role, she served as the Technical Adviser on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the President, working from the Office of the Vice President.

As PEBEC DG, Audu will lead the “Invest in Nigeria” campaign and oversee the Existing Foreign Direct Investors Roundtable Forum.

These initiatives aim to attract and retain foreign investments while addressing bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria.

Beyond her professional achievements, Audu is also recognized for her philanthropic work. She has consistently advocated for policies that enhance economic opportunities for Nigerians, building strong relationships with international organizations and governments.

“Through her various initiatives, Zahrah has made a significant impact in uplifting underprivileged communities across Nigeria,” Akume’s statement highlighted.
