Manchester United’s current manager, Ruben Amorim, has opened up about his ongoing discussions with the club’s legendary former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, particularly in light of the team’s recent struggles.

The Red Devils have been experiencing a challenging season, underscored by their recent 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford during a Premier League match on Sunday.

In an interview with Radio 5 Live, Amorim recounted a heartfelt moment shared with Ferguson before the match against Brighton. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset during this difficult period for the club. “I speak with Sir Alex several times,” Amorim said. “I try to call him to keep being positive.”

Amorim acknowledged the profound legacy Ferguson left at Manchester United, recognizing the immense pressure that comes with leading a team that has such a storied history.

“It’s really good because I feel the history of the club, but it’s really hard, as they did such a good job, to be the guy leading the team at this moment,” he added.

Despite the challenges, he remains determined, urging everyone to continue believing in the potential for improvement.

Since Ferguson retired, United have faced a rollercoaster of performances, and this season has been particularly tough, with the team currently languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table, having accrued just 26 points from 22 matches.

However, there is hope ahead, as United prepares to face Rangers in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, which could provide an opportunity for rejuvenation and a much-needed morale boost.
