UEFA Champions League Highest Goal Scorers After Match Day 7

At least 15 teams have guaranteed their continuation in the UEFA Champions League beyond the league phase with a game left to play.

This season’s Champions League campaign has embraced a new 36-team format, which is rapidly approaching the end of the league phase. As the excitement builds, it’s important to note that only two of the eight clubs that will advance directly to the Round of 16 have been officially confirmed so far.

In February, a total of 16 teams are set to compete in the knockout play-off round. This will involve teams that finish in 9th to 24th positions in the league. Meanwhile, clubs placed 25th to 36th will not advance and will be eliminated from the competition altogether.

To date, three clubs have already faced elimination – Young Boys, Slovan Bratislava, and RB Salzburg – with an additional nine teams poised to leave the tournament in the upcoming week.

This year’s format is different from previous seasons, as no teams will be relegated to the Europa League, making the stakes even higher for those still in contention.

Liverpool have assured themselves a spot in the round of 16. They are guaranteed to finish either first or second in the group. This achievement secures the Reds a favorable seeding in the knockout stage bracket, enhancing their chances of advancing further in the tournament.

Barcelona have also made a significant mark on the competition, having clinched a top-eight finish thanks to a thrilling 5-4 comeback victory against Benfica, capped off by a dramatic late winner.

As of now, several teams have guaranteed their places in at least the knockout play-off round, including Atlético Madrid, Atalanta, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Internazionale, Aston Villa, Brest, AS Monaco, Lille, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Juventus. These clubs will be looking to capitalize on their progress as the tournament continues to unfold.
