Police Rescue Hakeem Odumosu's Wife, Recover Ransom

Men of Ogun State Police Command have rescued the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Hakeem Odumosu.

Naija News reported that AIG Odumosu’s wife was kidnapped on Thursday, at Arepo Area of Ogun State.

According to Ogun Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the wife of the former Commissioner of Police in Lagos, was abducted at about 9 pm.

She explained that the kidnappers wearing masks, accosted Odumosu’s wife’s Lexus Jeep while she was approaching her residence, dragged her out and whisked her to an unknown destination.

Odutola added that a team of police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, are currently searching for the victim.

The Divisional Police Officer has led a team of officers to the scene, where they are currently searching the swampy bush area.

“The Baale of Warewa and Maaba have been contacted to also deploy local security forces to the riverine area,” she disclosed.

One week after her abduction, on Thursday (today) the Force Headquarters Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that she had been rescued.

In a brief statement on his X handle, Adejobi wrote: “Police Neutralise AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s wife Kidnappers, Recovers Ransom.

“The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job.

“We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.”
