Victor Boniface Signs New Contract In Germany
Nigeria forward Victor Boniface has extended his stay at Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen by signing a new one-year contract, which now runs until 2029.
Based on the new deal, Victor Boniface, 24, has emerged as one of the top earners at the reigning German Bundesliga champions.
Despite this contract renewal, he is not viewed as unsellable. Bayer Leverkusen has set a price tag of at least €50 million for any clubs interested in acquiring him.
Recall that Boniface joined Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 and enjoyed a remarkable debut season, winning both the Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly seeking a significant offer for their talented attacker, Jhon Duran, amid interest from top clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.
Several teams, including Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al Nassr, are looking to secure Duran’s services before the January transfer window closes.
West Ham recently saw a £57 million bid turned down by Aston Villa, while Al Nassr aims to bring in the 21-year-old as a potential replacement for their captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract ends after the season.
Chelsea made a strong attempt to sign Duran last summer, and Arsenal have been exploring options for a striker following Gabriel Jesus’ injury. Both London clubs are eager to enhance their attacking lineup this January.
According to talkSPORT, Aston Villa have indicated they require at least £85 million for Duran even though he is currently the second-choice number nine for Villa manager Unai Emery, behind Ollie Watkins.
Duran joined Aston Villa from Chicago Fire for £18 million two years ago, and his contract with the Premier League club is set to run until 2030.
