‘This Is A Blatant Coup’ – PDP Accuses IGP Egbetokun Of Orchestrating Attempts To Assassinate Gov Adeleke

The Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged Nigerians to warn and to prevail on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to desist from enabling orchestrated attempts to assassinate the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

Naija News reports that the party Chairman, Sunday Bisi, while addressing newsmen at the party’s Secretariat in Osogbo on Wednesday, alleged that Egbetokun’s deployment of special forces over the state-local government crisis aimed to assassinate Governor Adeleke.

Bisi added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) destabilisation of the state was deliberately orchestrated to stop Saturday’s local government council election.

In his words, “Mr. Egbetokun’s deliberate deployment of Special Forces under him to escort some miscreants into the local government councils in the state was nothing but a blatant coup. Obviously, one out of the many mapped-out plans is to assassinate the Governor of our dear state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, whose instruction to restore peace and order as the Chief Security Officer of Osun State was flagrantly violated by Mr. Egbetokun.

“The whole world must warn and prevail on Mr Kayode Egbetokun to desist from being an enabler of orchestrated attempts on the life of our Governor. These plans, we want to emphasize have been on the cards of the APC in Osun State since the good people of Osun State voted them out of office in 2022”.
