A well-decorated, competitive British swimmer Adam Peaty stormed onto the international swimming scene in 2014, setting a world record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 26.62 seconds in the same year. He has also won four gold medals at the LEN European Aquatic Championships, three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and was nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

The professional swimmer was born as the youngest of four children to his parents Mark and Caroline Peaty on December 28, 1994 in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Adam was educated at Painsley Catholic College and Derby College respectively.
At the age of nine, Peaty joined the Dove Valley Swim Club at her birthplace. He won many races and by the age of 12 he was setting club records. However, it wasn’t until he was seventeen that he began to take swimming seriously. The decision was inspired by an article in which he read that Craig Benson, a name he recognized from his junior circuit, had competed in the 100m breaststroke semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. seems to be the right one for Adam Peaty who has made big waves on the international stage with his performances.
Peaty did a good job defending his titles so far. He retained his 100m breaststroke title with a record of 57.47 seconds at the 2017 World Swimming Championships. In addition to breaking his own record in the 50m breaststroke twice, Adam Peaty defended his title with another sub-26 time of 25.99 seconds and achieved another World Championship double. He also set a new British record by winning a silver medal in the 4 × 100 m medley relay at the World Championships.
Once again, the renowned swimmer defended his 100m breaststroke title at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He finished things off in a Games record time of 58.84 seconds. Adam Peaty is proud to have received an MBE from the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace, an award he received for making the country proud in the world of sport.
