BIOGRAPHY
Husband of actress Arièle Semenoff and father of actress Mélanie Doutey , Alain Doutey developed a passion for theater very early on. Thus, he joined the prestigious Cours Simon in Paris. With his potential, a certain Jean-Laurent Cochet allowed him to play in several plays. At the beginning of 1970, we saw him, among others, in Pantoufle , La Claque and Le Siècle des Lumières . At the same time, he appeared on television in the famous program Au théâtre ce soir .

On the cinema side, Alain Doutey finds a secondary but relatively notable role in the comedy But where did the seventh company go? in 1973. The film met with significant success (almost 4 million admissions) and allowed the actor to increase his reputation. He continues by playing the English radio in Operation Lady Marlène , the fish farmer groom in Cousin, cousine and the tannery manager in Un si pretty village .

During the 1980s, Alain Doutey confirmed his status as a well-established face in French cinema. We see him, always through supporting roles, in Beyond the Glory , Les Filles de Grenoble , Croque La Vie , L’Été de nos fifteen ans , Pinot simple cop , Le Sang des autres , Nuit d’ivresse , A few days with me , Frantic , Without fear and without reproach , Rouge Venise and Dames galantes . It is also suitable for dubbing in Astérix chez les Bretons .

During the following decade, the 1990s, his pace of work did not slow down, quite the contrary. We thus find Alain Doutey in the detective film L’Oeil écarlate , the drama Fiesta , but especially in the comedies L’Homme de ma vie , Les Bidochon , Les Sœurs Soleil , Le Plus Beau Pays du monde and Le Derrière . He also voiced the great Clint Eastwood in his masterpiece On the Road to Madison , which was released in 1995.

During the 2000s, Alain Doutey played the priest in Help, I’m 30! by Marie-Anne Chazel, the head valet in Marie-Antoinette by Sofia Coppola, Doctor Mascard in The Candidatby Niels Arestrup and the president of the court in the second Mesrine by Jean-François Richet. Note that he shoots several times for Olivier Baroux ( Ce soir je dors chez toi , Safari , L’Italien , Les Tuche and But who re-killed Pamela Rose? ).

Favoring comedy, Alain Doutey took part, in the 2010s, in Me, Michel G, billionaire , master of the world , My name is Bernadette , Our most beautiful vacations , Crazy raid , In love with my wife , Happy retirement! and The Fantasies . On the theater side, he plays in the plays Twelve Angry Men (2009) by Reginald Rose, The Imaginary Sick (2019) by Molière and But Who Is Monsieur Schmitt? (2022) by Sébastien Thiéry.

At the same time, and since his beginnings, Alain Doutey has had a career in television. He finds, in fact, more or less striking roles in series that are sometimes widely watched, helping to make the actor, perhaps even more than thanks to his cinema performances, a known face. Among them, we can cite Summer Storms , Burning Hearts , High Tides , Parents Instructions and Tomorrow Belongs to Us .
