Alessandra Torresani was born Alessandra Olivia Toreson in Palo Alto, California on May 29, 1987 to parents James Sylvester Toreson and Marcia Glow. Coming from a wealthy family, her father Sylvester oversees a number of multi-million dollar technology start-ups at Freedom Motors Inc. He is also CEO of Toreson Industries, Inc; A company he founded in 1983. Her mother, Marcia, works as the managing director of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
Growing up, Torreson was a fairly precocious child who had an aptitude for the arts. She began studying dance and singing at the age of two. At nine she made her first television appearance in the Warner Bros kids’ club for KBWB Channel 20 in San Francisco. a Disney Channel Original Movie.

In 1997, Torresani appeared in an episode of the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series KaBlam . The next two years saw her in episodes of the medical drama series ER (1998) and the NBC sitcom Works (1999).
In 2000, she starred in the comedy series. Popular which aired on The Warner Bros TV Network and Even Stevens which aired on Disney Channel. She later appeared in Malcolm in the Middle The following year, Torresani appeared in the legal television show JAG and two situation comedies Arrested Development (2004) and Grounded for Life (2004). She also appeared on the sitcoms Love, Inc. (2005) and The War at Home (2005).
The following year, she appeared in the science fiction series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ; which aired on Fox television.
