BIOGRAPHY
Alicia Silverstone grew up in a modest family in San Francisco. Very early on, she devoted herself to comedy and took theater lessons. Alongside her studies, she acted in advertisements and found her first role in an episode of the series Les Années coup de cœur when she was 15 years old. We then see her in TV films and several music videos (notably from the very fashionable group Aerosmith). Then, she decided to drop out of her studies to become an actress. Thus, she went to castings for television and the big screen.

In 1993, Alicia played the lead female character in the erotic thriller The Crush starring Cary Elwes . The actress with an angelic face, who is starting to make a name for herself in the industry, is immediately chosen to be in the casting of The Babysitter , Memories of Beyond , Le Nouveau Monde , Excess Baggage and especially Clueless . In this cult satirical teen movie from the 1990s, she slips into the skin of Cher Horowitz, a spoiled high school student from the posh environment of Beverly Hills who knows how to play to her strengths perfectly.

Increasingly in demand, Alicia Silverstone was selected in 1996 to play Barbara Wilson / Batgirl in Batman Forever directed by Joel Schumacher and worn by Val Kilmer . Unfortunately, if the film achieved a relatively decent score at the box office (336 million dollars in worldwide revenue for a budget of 160 million), it was extremely poorly criticized by the press to the point of being still considered today as the worst Batman never made. Unfortunate consequence: the actress’s career was seriously affected.

Becoming rarer, Alicia appears in films that often go unnoticed, such as First Exit , Love’s Lost , Scooby-Doo 2 , Beauty Shop or Alex Rider: Stormbreaker . In the 2010s, this trend increased with a long desert crossing and a few performances in The Day I Met Her , Vamps , Gods Behaving Badly , King Cobra , Who’s Keeping the Dog? and The Book Club . However, she makes a short appearance in the brilliant and disturbing Killing of the Sacred Deer directed by Yórgos Lánthimos .

In 2018, Alicia Silverstone headlines, alongside Mena Suvari and Jennifer Bartels, from the Paramount Network series American Woman . She is also in the credits of the Netflix series The Babysitters as well as in the animated adaptation, still for Netflix, of Masters of the Universe , where she lends her voice to Queen Marlena. Also in 2020, she briefly appeared as a tortured mother in the horror film The Lodge . In 2022, she wears the nanar The Requin . The following year, she starred alongside Benicio Del Toro in the thriller Reptile .
