BIOGRAPHY
Andrés López López is, currently, a Colombian writer, born on June 15, 1971, in Cali, Colombia. A former drug trafficker, Andrés started out as a cook in the drug laboratories of Valle del Cauca. When he joined the Norte del Valle Cartel, López was known by the alias “Florecita” due to his sybaritic way of dressing. By 1993, after the death of Pablo Escobar, due to major differences with the Cali Cartel, a war occurred, and he and his companions became independent and created the powerful Norte del Valle Cartel, operating mainly in the North of the Valle del Valle. Cauca, southwest of Colombia. The Norte del Valle Cartel became the most wanted criminal group by the DEA, and López was one of the main middle bosses of this cartel. Due to the insistent persecution of the DEA and the cooperation with the authorities of rival organizations, López decided to surrender to North American justice in 2001 and was sentenced to 11 years in prison, but he was released in 2006, thanks to good behavior and collaboration with the North American government, to later begin a career as a writer, being the writer of El cartel de los sapos and creator of the series El Señor de los Cielos .
