Asaad Amin Ali is the youngest son of boxing legend Mohammad Ali. Although he was raised by an international icon, Asaad decided to create his own path rather than follow in his father’s footsteps. Today, he is doing well as a baseball coach.

Biography of Asaad Amin

The baseball coach was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1986, Asaad was adopted at just five months old by Ali and his fourth wife, Yolanda “Lonnie” Williams. At the time, Lonnie’s sister was taking care of a friend’s baby who was going to be placed in foster care. The baby’s story changed for the better when Ali and Lonnie visited Asaad, fell in love with him and decided to adopt him.

Ali already had seven daughters and a son from his previous marriage.

As the youngest of Muhammad Ali’s nine children, Asaad didn’t get a chance to check his mailbox. Arguably the 31-year-old, who now works as an assistant baseball coach for a local college, wasn’t inspired to watch his dad in action when he was born a decade after Ali Ali’s retirement.

Unlike his father, Asaad developed a passion for baseball instead of boxing. He was a catcher in his high school and in 1992 led his team to the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference West Division Championship. He batted 367 with four doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs in 25 games as an 18-year-old. Besides baseball, Asaad also played high school football.

In 2009, he was selected by the Anaheim Angels in the 40th round.

According to details available on his Facebook, he is currently an assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at a local college. He also acts as a regional scout for the Chicago White Sox. Asaad’s baseball coaching profile indicates that one of his Chicago White Sox rookies was drafted in the 29th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

Considering he hasn’t seen his daddy’s box, it’s quite safe to say that his respect for the legendary Mohammed Ali is unrelated to his highly successful and lucrative career as a professional boxer. Asaad, who has so much respect for his father, said he admired his strength of character and perseverance, even though he had Parkinson’s disease.

“He stays positive despite his Parkinson’s disease… He never complains about it.”

Following the death of his father in 2016, Asaad posted a series of touching tributes online to the man who took him under his wing when he needed help the most.

Forever grateful for all you have ever given me.. You have shown me how to love the world in ways I never knew possible. You showed me how to be brave and courageous in situations beyond my hopes! You have taught me so much over the past 25 years, things that will forever be etched in my soul. “I’m able to sit here and to the right of this message without falling apart because I honestly know you’re in a bigger place. And I’m glad you have the chance to go home to grandma now. I know you missed her like crazy!. No one will ever touch this earth like you did. God came down and took back one of his kings! . Keep calm dad and keep looking at me sincerely. your youngest
