Bill Daily is an American actor and comedian who has also appeared on various sitcoms and television shows. He is widely recognized for his role as Major Roger Healey on ‘I Dream of Jeannie,’ Howard Borden on ‘The Bob Newhart Show,’ and Dr. Larry Dykstra on ‘ALF.’
Additionally, he has worked on various sitcoms and TV shows, but retired from the entertainment industry in 2011. However, he continued to do stand-up comedy and appeared as a guest artist. The comedian was born on August 30, 1927 as Willard Carroll Smith James Daily in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. He was born as the son of parents Fern Ellis and Raymonde Daily. He spent many of his years in Chicago, Illinois, after his father did not return when he went out to buy a loaf of bread two weeks after Bill’s birth.

Parallel to his career as a musician, he also began acting as a stand-up comedian in 1950. He then graduated from the Goodman Theater School and worked for the NBC television station in Chicago as a floor manager and then personnel manager. However, his notable role came as Army Major Roger Healey in 1965’s ‘I Dream of Jeannie’.
Following the series’ cancellation, he appeared as Howard Borden on The Bob Newhart Show. He also served as a panelist on the 1970 CBS game show ‘Match Game.’ Additionally, in 1987, he was named a director of the New Mexico Film Commission. In 1988, he worked as a doctor on the sitcom ‘Starting From Scratch’. Although he has appeared in several series, he mostly did stand-up comedy and occasionally as a television guest.

He was married three times and divorced twice. He first married his first wife Patricia Anderson in 1949. They had no biological children of their own, but had adopted two children: a son, Patrick, and a daughter, Kimberley. According to sources, Kimberly has passed away but there is no information about it. In 1976, their marriage ended in divorce.
After years, he went ahead and married for the second time with his wife Vivian Sánchez. The couple hit the road performing Lover’s Leap. But this relationship of theirs did not last long either and she finalized her divorce from him in 1983. Almost ten years later he married his wife Becky Daily for the third time. But he had to separate from his third wife due to her death in 2010.

The comedian passed away five days after his 91st birthday on September 4, 2018 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States. He died peacefully and naturally in his house. And his death was announced three days after his disappearance by his family.
