Emmanuel Macron rises to the top of politics as the President of France has sparked several debates around the world for different reasons. There were those who focused on his age, he became the youngest president in the history of his country when he was sworn in. Others focused on his professional background as a former employee of Rothschild & Cie and his commitment to creating a pro-poor economy. Others, however, have focused on his wife, Brigitte Macron, who is 24 years older than the French president and was his high school teacher.

Brigitte Macron’s Biography, Age
She was born Brigitte Marie-ClaudeTrogneux-Macron to Simone and Jean Trogneux on April 13, 1953. Although she spent most of her professional career as a schoolteacher, she was by no means from a poor family. His family, the Trogneux, are proud owners of a chocolate confectionery business, Jean Trogneux. Like the company, Brigitte was born in Amiens. She was the youngest of a family of six children.
Not much is known about her upbringing, other than the fact that she became an educator herself, possibly through her experience while studying.
She began her career as a teacher at Collège Lucie-Berger in Strasbourg in the 1980s. She taught at the school for a few years before moving to Lycée la Providence, a Jesuit secondary school back in her hometown of Amiens in the 90s, where she would meet Emmanuel Macron, student and future president. At Lycée la Providence, she taught literature and headed the theater department.
Before her life was consumed by her relationship with her husband and her public status, she made her first attempt at politics in 1989, when she ran for mayor of Truchtersheim. However, she lost the race. After this loss, she became a private citizen again until the Emmanuel Macron star was too bright to remain hidden from public life.
Family – Parents, Siblings
Brigitte’s parents are Simone Pujol and Jean Trogneux. She lost both her parents. Her father died in 1994 and her mother four years later, in 1998.
She is the youngest of six children born to their parents. She however lost one of her older siblings when she was a teenager in 1961 following a car accident that took the lives of her sister and her family (husband and daughter).
Husband – Emmanuel Macron

Like a scene from a movie, she walked into her literature class one day and in the group of students sitting in front of her was her future husband. When they met, Emmanuel was 15 at the time and the two formed a bond that has lasted for years.

When Emmanuel was 17, he proclaimed to Brigitte that he could marry her one day. Before Macron, she was married to André-LouisAuziere. The marriage began in 1974 and produced three children: Sebastian Auziere, Laurence Auziere-Jourdan and TiphainieAuziere, all of whom were successful in their respective fields. She divorced Andre in 2006 before sealing her long love affair with Emmanuel in 2007.
