In the 1990s, American actress Brittany Daniel rose to prominence among viewers as the young star of the comedy-drama series Sweet Valley High in which she played the lead role of Jessica Wakefield. Over the years, the talented actress cut her teeth in the comedy genre, having logged many of those roles on the big and small screen. Most recently, she had a regular role in the 9-season drama series The Game.

Brittany Daniel’s Biography

Brittany Ann Daniel was born on March 17, 1976, in Gainesville, Florida, to Carolyn and Charlton Bradford Daniel. She has a twin sister Cynthia and an older brother named Brad Raylius Daniel. Brittany had a very active childhood alongside her twin sister and among other activities, they started modeling at a young age. They were signed to international modeling agency Ford Models when they were 11 years old and, among other career highlights, the twins featured in teen magazines Seventeen, YM and Impertinent. They were also the subject of an advertising campaign for the bubble gum brand Doublemint. They started performing in 1989, marking their debut with an appearance on the sitcomThe new leave it to the beaver. In 1992, Brittany landed a regular role as Mila Rosnovsky alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in the short-lived teen drama series Swans Crossing. The role earned her a nomination for Best Young Actress at the 1993 Young Artist Award.

Daniel’s dramatic breakthrough came in 1994 when she was cast as the star of the drama series Sweet Valley High alongside her sister Cynthia. Brittany starred as Jessica “Jess” Wakefield opposite her sister’s character Elizabeth “Liz” Wakefield during the show’s four successful years and for their brilliant performance the duo won the 1995 Young Artist Award for Best Performance: Young Actress in a Comedy TV Series. During Sweet Valley High’s run , Brittany Daniel landed her first big-screen role in the coming of age drama The Basketball Diarieswhich also starred Leonardo DiCaprio. In 1999, she had a recurring role on Season 3 of the teen drama series Dawson’s Creek and also appeared in the action movie Sonic Impact. This was followed by roles in the TV movies Fortunate Son (2000) and On Hostile Ground (2000) as well as co-lead in the adventure comedy Joe Dirt (2001).

As her movie career continues to skyrocket, Brittany Daniel lands a spot in the main cast of the short-lived sitcom This Is the 80s Show (2002) where she played the lead role of Sophia. She also appeared in White Chicks (2004), Club Dread (2004), Little Man (2006), Rampage: The Hillside Strangler Murders (2006) among several others. Her White Chicks performance earned her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Kiss alongside Marlon Wayans. The talented actress was cast as Kelly Pitts in the drama series The Game and she starred in all but 9 of the show’s 9 total seasons which spanned from 2006 to 2015. Daniel recorded other film credits in Loveless in Los Angeles (2007), Skyline ( 2010) and she reprized her role in the sequel Joe Dirt Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser (2015) 

Family, Twin – Cynthia Daniel

Brittany Daniel was born 5 minutes earlier than her twin sister Cynthia Daniel. As expected, the duo did pretty much everything together while growing up; gymnastics, modeling, acting, and ultimately they came into the limelight with their breakout roles on Sweet Valley High. However, after registering a few more acting credits, Cynthia followed a different career path outside of Hollywood. She retired from acting in 1997 to become a photographer. She currently has 3 children with film and television actor Cole Hauser, her husband since 2006.

Brittany Daniel’s father, Charlton Bradford Daniel died in 2008 after a long battle with cancer. The actress herself was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2011. Luckily, she was declared cancer-free in 2014 after undergoing chemotherapy. She collaborated with her sister Cynthia on a lifestyle blog ‘The Sweet Life’ which they launched in July 2017.

Brittany Daniel is currently married to real estate broker and attorney Adam Touni who co-founded California real estate firm “The AW Team” in 2011. After getting engaged on Christmas Day 2016, the couple tied the knot on July 29, 2017. The The wedding was an exquisite ceremony held at Carondelet House, a rustic-chic wedding venue in downtown Los Angeles.
