Calvin Chen was born on November 10, 1980, in Bangkok, Thailand. He attended the Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School before moving to Canada to study at Simon Fraser University, where he earned a degree. Thereafter, he moved to the University of Victoria to bag a master’s degree in Economics.
Fluent in Mandarin, English, Taiwanese, and Thai, he also understands conversational Cantonese, Korean, and Japanese, thanks to his work as a host. In 2020, he married his girlfriend of ten years, Taiwanese actress Joanne Tseng.
