BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Gironde, Cécile Bois joined the Théâtre en Vrac troupe then the Bordeaux Conservatory, before moving to Paris to follow training at the École de la rue Blanche. There she met her agent, who got her started in the profession, alternating between theater, cinema and television. In 1991, the young woman appeared in the biopic Devenir Colette and signed her first collaboration with director René Ferret in Promenades d’été , whom she returned to two years later for La Place d’un autre . Cécile Bois also participates in Germinal , adaptation of the eponymous novel by Zola , directed by Gérard Depardieu . In 1995, the young woman won the title role at the audition of “Angélique, Marquise des Anges”, and performed in more than a hundred performances, directed by Robert Hossein , at the Palais des Sports in Paris. The same year, she obtained the lead female role in Ca n’est pas les sentiments , playing a buxom Breton with a heart of gold, surrounded by the comic duo Chevallier and Laspalès .

During the 2000s, her career shifted more towards the small screen ( Maigret , Femmes de loi , Joséphine ange guardian , Les Cordier, judge and cop , A wonderful family , Camping Paradis , Alice Nevers , etc.), notably with regular roles for one season, in the series Ariane Ferry then Agathe contre Agathe . At the same time, Cécile Bois appears in Le Roman de Lulu , a romantic comedy around the question of the age difference in a couple and Le Roi danse , retracing the meeting between the King of France Louis XIV, the talented Lully and the ingenious man of letters, Molière. The actress stars alongside Claire Keim in the TV film Life as a Girl , recounting the pitfall-filled journey of a woman going through a divorce. In 2009, she joined Alain Chabat and Mathilde Seigner for Trésor , a comedy which did not meet with the expected success in theaters.

In 2013, Cécile Bois was offered the eponymous role in the series Candice Renoir, broadcast on France 2, which then gave it a certain notoriety. His character, juggling his criminal investigations and his family worries, seduces the spectators. In the meantime, the actress starred in several TV films: she slipped into the skin of Anne of Austria for Richelieu, la pourpre et le sang , then played a fighting mother in Envers et contre tous , before playing the captain Claire Dalmas, authoritarian and independent, forced to team up with her one-night lover in Murders in Sarlat . In 2021, she plays the title role of Gloria , an adaptation of the Welsh series Keeping Faith , in which a mother of three sees her daily life shattered when her husband, who seemed to lead a double life, mysteriously disappears.
