When she was a young girl, Cecily Tynan told her father she wanted to be a television journalist. He told her she wouldn’t want to do this because it was something very competitive and in response she told him she was going to be one of “those people”.
Many years later, Cecily has become a faceTV journalist since 1995, a very experienced meteorologist, she has become a major player in the broadcasting industry who does everything from simple anchoring to weather forecasting. Although, unlike many others, she hasn’t worked with many other stations or networks outside of WPVI-TV and ABCNEWS, she has still earned her place in the scheme of things.

It is as Cecily Joan Tynan the journalist was born in Newtown, Connecticut, United States on March 19, 1969.
The moment she started walking as a child, it was discovered that something was wrong – she was born with a congenital hip defect. Because of this, she was forced to do ballet as she grew older, doctors believing it would help her get back in shape.
Her journey to becoming a reporter didn’t start when she was very young. In fact, it was at the age of 17, on January 28, 1986, that it all began. On that day, the world saw NASA’s Shuttle Surveillance Mission STS-51-L catch fire 73 seconds into its flight. Like many others, she saw how Dan Rather explained what happened. As she watched Dan do his job, she immediately realized that he was doing a very important job. She then decided she would also like to contribute in the same way the CBS veteran did.
In pursuit of her dream, she traveled to Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where she majored in politics and journalism.
During his internship, many considered Tynan a prodigy. However, she nearly lost her way as she got used to taking the easier route, choosing to focus on things like parties. The wake-up call came when Jim Kent, who was her news director, took a look at her and she showed interest. He told her that she showed no spark that would compel him to give her the job.
Through this, Cecily Tynan was forced to have a rethink and she discovered her passion; meteorology. In 1995, a Weeknight meteorologist came to WPVI-TV and she applied and got the job. Since then, she has continued to develop into one of the best in the business.

In 2012, Cecily Tynan was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame. It shows that she has come a long way in her chosen profession. While his salary has been left to speculation, his net worth has been estimated at $2 million.
Her husband
A very beautiful and talented woman, Cecily Tyn has been married twice so far. The first man to become her husband was a schoolteacher whose name is Michael Badger. Although it’s unclear when the pair tied the knot, the marriage ended in 2014.
After the divorce, she bonded with Greg Watson and it is with him that she has her two children, Emma and Luke.

1. She wanted to become a professional ballerina
Due to her early exposure to ballet due to her childhood defect, she fell in love with ballet and had even wanted to become a ballerina. However, her parents did not want her to do it professionally. At one time, her company was on tour in Russia, but her parents did not allow her to go because they placed her education above all else.
2. Cecily Tynan is a sports lover.
When her ballet company went to Russia, she participated in an athletics event and she fell in love with it. Tynan decided to part ways with ballet and settle down as a runner, which she continued until her injury in 2014.
