Biography of Chael Sonnen
American mobster or People’s Champion as he is better known, was christened Chael Patrick Sonnen at birth on April 3, 1977. He was born into the family of Mr. Patrick and Claudia Sonnen in Milwaukie, Oregon, alongside his six brothers and a sister.
Chael was educated at West Linn High School where he began his wrestling career as an amateur and soon became a state finalist after which he began better boxing training in hopes of making it to the ‘UFC. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in sociology, but earning a degree wasn’t enough to keep him from his long-awaited dream. His hopes of competing in the UFC were not dashed when he made his debut in UFC 55 on October 7 in the year 2005.
You could say that Chael Sonnen is a man of many talents. Although his main work is mixed martial arts, this American is also known as an actor, some of his films include Behold the Boom (2012) and Reluctant Match (2013). With the UFC, he played a key role in events like UFC 56: Full Force, UFC 60: Hughes vs Gracie and the likes.
As an author, he co-authored the book The Four Pack Revolution: How to Aim Lower, Cheat Your Diet, Lose Weight and Keep It Off in 2017. He is also known to be a politician who once ran for the office in the Oregon House of Representatives as a Republican, but later dropped out of the race.
In May 2014, Chael Sonnen’s career was deadly. He was hit with a two-year suspension from mixed martial arts by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for testing positive in a drug test for anastrozole and clomiphene, which was considered a banned substance by the commission. Chael married longtime girlfriend Britany Smith in July 2013; they welcomed their first child on June 4, 2015 and named him Thero. The birth of their second child turned out to be a real tragedy as Brittany was infected with the listeria that baby Blauna had contracted. Details given by Chael showed the doctors they initially went to misdiagnosed and were treating Brittany for dehydration until he was fed up and took her to another hospital where the baby was delivered and tests indicated it was listeria. Baby Blauna died shortly thereafter.
The experience was painful for the couple, but that didn’t stop them from having more babies as they were soon blessed with another beautiful baby girl they named Pria.
