BIOGRAPHY
Chantal Lauby began her career on television as a presenter on FR3, first in Auvergne, then on the Côte d’Azur, replacing Evelyne Leclercq. She then joined Radio France and FR3 Marseille.

In 1986, a cassette of Bzzz! , a show made up of sketches and clips that she hosts with her accomplice Bruno Carette falls into the hands of the two directors of Canal +, Alain De Greef and Albert Mathieu. The latter, amazed by her comic talent, hired her and she became a member of the Nuls troupe in 1987. Surrounded by Bruno Carette, Dominique Farrugia and Alain Chabat , she hosted various shows – Objectif: Nul , Le JTN , TVN 595 , ABCD Nuls , Les Nuls, the show – which are the channel’s heyday.

Apart from a tiny role in They are big, these little ones in 1979, Chantal Lauby really made her cinema debut in The City of Fear by Alain Berberian , which revives the burlesque humor of Zucker productions. She then appears in the form of a wink in the comedies of her friends: Delphine 1 – Yvan 0 (1996) by Dominique Farrugia , Didier (1997) and Astérix et Obélix: mission Cléopâtre (2002) by Alain Chabat .

But other comic actors are interested in her: Chantal Lauby maintains a hidden affair with Gérard Jugnot in Best Female Hope (2000), and Pascal Légitimus imagines her as a female cop in Antilles sur Seine (id.). In 2002, she decided to write and direct her first feature film, Leave Your Hands on My Hips , which she also starred in. She plays a forty-year-old woman, who, abandoned by her daughter, begins to enjoy life to the fullest. More discreet on screen after this trial run, she participated in a friendly manner in the punchy comedy Casablanca Driver (2004) by Maurice Barthélémy and the photo novel Toi et moi (2006) by Julie Lopes-Curval .

In 2008, she played the horrible mother of Marilou Berry in Vilaine , the anti-thesis film of Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain (2001), then offered a performance against the job in Le Thanato (2010) by Frédéric Cerulli . Her return to comedy in the cinema with La Cage Dorée (2012) was beneficial to her since she won the female performance prize at the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival in 2013. The same year, we find her on the poster of Grand Départ , the comedy by Nicolas Mercier carried by the very fashionable Pio Marmaï and Jérémie Elkaïm .

In 2014, Chantal Lauby took part in the cartoon What We Did to the Good Lord? via the role of Christian Clavier’s wife. The feature film gave rise to a sequel in 2019, What Have We Done Again to the Good Lord? , always made by Philippe de Chauveron . At the same time, the actress favors comedy as usual, as evidenced by her more or less important appearances in The Dream Team , D-Day , Family Photo , Doctor? and SOL . She begins 2022 with What Have We All Done to the Good Lord? , the third installment of the lucrative comedy franchise centered on the clash of cultures.
