To launch his acting career, Charles Parnell left his native Chicago for New York. The world of television seduced him when he participated in the filming of two current cult series, Sex & the City and New York 911 . Opportunistic and lucky, the young actor immediately found himself in the cinema, in the casting of Mind the Gap in 2004, in which five people wish to find happiness at all costs.

Charles Parnell then appeared in FBI: Missing Persons and New York Judicial Police , then landed a recurring role in the soap The Force of Destiny . Derek Frye, his character, is a local detective who leaves a lasting impression on viewers. After three years in this daily program, popular series, such as Bones , Lie to Me and Fringe , called on him as a guest star for an episode. He indulged in a new exercise, when his voice became that of Jefferson Twilight, in Cartoon Network’s The Venture Bros.

The artist subsequently returned to theaters with Pariah and the biopic 42 , two feature films dedicated to the African-American population in the United States. Transformers: Age of Extinction , one of the blockbusters of 2014, allows him to play the director of the CIA. Finally, Steven Kane contacted him to play Commander Hugh Jeter in The Last Ship .
