The French international entertainer was born in the capital of France, Paris, on February 29, 1942. With the desire to be in show biz, Claudine at 18, took a job as a dancer in a famous nightclub in France called Impresario Lou Walters. From there, she moved to the big screen and began acting in 1963, making her first appearance on McHale’s comedy television series Marine. She was later portrayed in other TV series like; The name of the game, 12 o’clock, The Rat Patrol, Combat etc. Claudine Longet was also known for being a popular guest on the Andy Williams Show, a musical show hosted by the famous singer Andy Williams. In 1966, the actress became a star when she starred in the film Sauve qui peutand was able to show his musical side with the interpretation of the song ‘Meditation’ by Brazilian songwriter Antônio Carlos Jobim, which marked the beginning of his musical career.

Claudine Longet’s first record deal was with A&M Records and she released several singles alongside 5 albums under the label. Her first album, which bore the same title and was called Claudine, reached number eleven on the American Billboard charts and sold 500,000 copies. She had another album Seeking Love which ranked at number 33 on the US Pop Albums Chart. After which other albums were released such as Couleurs, course libre, course sauvage and Le Meilleur de Claudine Longet. After her contract with A&M Records, Claudine went on to sign with Barnaby Record and produced two notable albums with them, We’ve Just Begunin 1971 and Let’s Spend the Night Together which was released the following year, 1972.

Returning her to married life, it’s worth knowing that the veteran artist was first married to Andy Williams, an American singer whom she met in Las Vegas. Their future romantic marriage and marriage began after Williams offered to help her fix her car and the two hooked up, which later formalized their relationship in 1961 when they got married. The union gave birth to three children, Noëlle, Christian and Robert, but the marriage unfortunately ended in 1975.

The pair became so close that Claudine Longet had to move to Aspen, Colorado with her children to stay with her new found lover. However, after a year of dating, the relationship fell apart after Vladimir was discovered in his own pool of blood and a gun was seen on her. She was arrested and charged with the murder of Vladimir Spider Sabich, although she revealed during the trail that the shooting was accidental as she tried to learn how to use her weapon. Without any strings attached, her ex-husband, Williams, was known to be with her throughout the process and even helped her with all the costs involved. Claudine was eventually found guilty of negligent homicide and sentenced to a symbolic fine of thirty days in prison.

Regardless of the scandal she faced, the French actress and singer found love again and this time it was with Ronald Duane Austin, her lawyer during the murder case. The duo married in 1985 and have been together ever since.
