A year later, the girl was chosen to star in the miniseries Rayito de Luz before getting her first leading role in the children’s telenovela María Belén (2001). Her performance earned her the Mexican El Heraldo prize for “newcomer of the year” as well as the Bravo Award for best performance in the children’s category.

In 2005, Donna Paola obtained the main female role in the series Pablo y Andrea , a television adaptation of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In the following years, she participated in several series produced by Televisa, the most important multimedia company in Latin America and the Hispanic world. Subsequently, the young actress was chosen to play the heroine Patricia “Patito” Peralta for two seasons in Atrévete a soñar , the Mexican remake of the Argentine children’s telenovela, Patito Feo .

A jack of all trades, Donna Paola pursued a parallel career as a singer from the age of 6, the year of her first album. She thus takes to the stage for various musical comedies and tours. At the end of 2010, she lent her pretty voice to the character of Rapunzel in the Spanish version of the Disney film. Prolific, it was during the summer of 2015 that she filmed the dramatic telenovela ¿Quién es quién? , his first project outside the Televisa group. The program will notably be broadcast in the United States on the Telemundo channel from February 2016. That same year, the young actress shot her first feature film, Como va , a Mexican production which was released in theaters in early 2018.

Seen in the romantic series La Doña in 2016, Danna Paola subsequently played the famous Mexican singer Lucero in four episodes of the biopic series José José: El Principe de la Canción . It was after this experience that she finally made a place for herself on the international television scene with Elite , the Spanish teen thriller from Netflix. She plays the odious young heiress Lucrecia “Lu” Montesinos Hendrich, who sees her world turned upside down when three new working-class students arrive at the most exclusive school in Spain: a societal shock that will quickly lead to murder.
