BIOGRAPHY
David Corenswet found his first notable role in the comedy series Moe & Jerryweather in 2014. He continued by appearing furtively in various series such as Elementary , Instinct and House of Cards . He plays bigger characters in Hollywood , which revisits the 1940s movie industry, and The Politician , in which he plays a college student who commits suicide.

The Philadelphia native continues with We Own This City (2022), a detective mini-series created by David Simon ( On the Wire ), in which he plays David McDougall, an honest young investigator working in the Baltimore police force who is confronted to corruption within the city’s law enforcement agencies. On the cinema side, we see him in Affairs of State , The Sunlit Night and Une vie ou l’autre .

At the end of June 2023, his career underwent a most significant development when he was chosen by James Gunn to play Superman in the new film dedicated to the superhero: Superman: Legacy (2025). David succeeds Henry Cavill , Brandon Routh and Christopher Reeves . He also triumphed over Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney , his main competitors. Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois.
