Debra Ann McGee was born on the 31st day of October in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, England to British parents Patrick McGee and wife Lillian Howes. His father worked as a goldsmith for a large manufacturing company, and his family also ran a corner store. While growing up, Debbie studied at Our Lady Immaculate RC Primary School and after graduation she went to Tolworth Secondary School for Girls. As a teenager, Debbie won an audition which earned her a place at the Royal Ballet School.
Soon after her graduation, McGee became part of the Iranian National Ballet Company where she performed with the Corps de Ballet group. She was forced to leave Iran during the Iranian Revolution and return to the UK. She then joined the summer and traveling production company called the Bernard Delfont Organisation. While there, the company found him work as a stage performer for Paul Daniels in 1979.
Debbie McGee also joined the second generation troupe as a dancer, she combined her work with her appearance on the Paul Daniels Magic Show. In 1991 she joined the society of British professional magicians called The Magic Circle. Later in 2017, she received the Maskelyne Award for her marvelous impact on British Magic. Also, the dancer extraordinaire formed her own dance company called Ballet Imaginaire with which she produced several ballet shows and tours in the UK.
Being career-focused, Debbie has also pursued a career in television and radio; she joined BBC Radio 4 where she hosted several shows including Box Jumpers (2004) and many others. She currently works as a host for BBC Radio’s Sunday morning show in Berkshire. The wonderful couple met in London while Debbie was working as an assistant in her magic show in May 1979. Seeing the bond between them, Daniels and Debbie began their relationship which eventually resulted in a happily ever after life. They walked down the aisle in April 1988, and after their marriage they continued to work together at the magic show until the show ended in 1994. In the meantime, the couple had no children.
Prior to their marriage, Paul was previously married to a woman named Jacqueline Skipworth. They were married for fifteen years, from 1960 to 1975. Together they had three sons – Paul, Martin and Gary Daniels. After their marriage, Debbie became the stepmother to her three children. Debbie’s husband died in March 2016 after an incurable brain tumour. He died at age 77.
