Deborah Dubois – Everything You Should Know About Barry Seal’s Wife
Deborah Dubois is an American celebrity, best known as the wife of Adler Berriman Seal popularly known as Barry Seal. Barry was a Trans World Airlines (TWA) pilot who became notorious for smuggling drugs for the Medellín cartel. He was eventually arrested in 1984, charged with smuggling offenses, then found guilty and sentenced to ten years in prison.
He believed Barry Sealin was able to get a prison reduction deal with the Drug Enforcement Administration on the condition that he work as their informant and provide them with information about other drug operations.
During that time, he testified in various high-profile drug studies supporting the convictions of many cartel thugs. Unfortunately, his secret dealings with the DEA and CIA were eventually exposed by the Washington Times Post and this led to his murder in 1986.

1. Her marriage to former drug smuggler Barry Seal
Barry Seal met Deborah Dubois while he was going to a hearing after his arrest in 1972 when he tried to smuggle military explosives out of the country, ostensibly to fight Cuban militants. He came to the restaurant where the then 21-year-old worked as a cashier, and according to Deborah Dubois, he asked her out just like that. He impressed her with wild stories about the missions he had flown and in 1974 she became his third wife. The first two were Lynn Ross, who married Barry for eight years from 1963 to 1971, and Barbara Dodson from 1971 to 1972.
2. She has three children
Within the time she was married to late former smuggler Deborah Dubois had three children with him, Dean, Aaron and Christina Seal. Her three children are the five children of her late husband, who had two children – Lisa and Alder with his first wife.
3. Did she know about Barry’s drug business?
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Barry is considered to be probably the most successful smuggler of his time, having smuggled no fewer than 50 loads of cocaine into the United States and earning $1 million for each trip. However, his wife Deborah Dubois insists she never knew about her husband’s shady dealings.
According to her, she thought he was an aircraft, as a broker, he was also involved in renting out old anti-aircraft lighting for various promotional events. Deborah also said that she trusted her husband so much that she never asked questions, along with the fact that she had never seen him with drugs.
4. Deborah Dubois’ life after Barry’s death
After Barry’s murder, Deborah fell hard due to the fact that the government confiscated her husband’s property and estate after he was arrested for drug trafficking and illegal activities. Deborah Dubois told the Daily Mail that she and her children need to survive on Barry Seal’s life insurance. She noted that Barry kept them out if he really made the millions of dollars they said he made.
5. Case
Barry Seal’s story has since been made into films such as Crossed Double (1991), Invader (2016) and American (2017). The final film was produced by Imagine Entertainment under Universal Pictures and was filmed after the company bought Barry’s Rights to Life from Deborah at a cost of $350,000.
However, this led to a court case as LisaSeal Frigon, Barry’s eldest daughter by his first wife, who now manages her father’s estate, alleged in a lawsuit in the 19th Judicial District Court that Deborah Dubois and her three children passed Barry Seal’s life story rights without authorization to the Film company would have sold either the court or the estate.
In addition, the lawsuit being filed and assigned to the state, District Judge Don Johnson also claimed that none of the proceeds of the agreement were sent to the property and that some facts in the script were incorrect. For example, Barry actually had five children, but the film only captured his three children with Deborah.
