Fans of the MADtv sketch comedy series remember Debra Wilson, the show’s longest-running actress whose outrageous impressions of Whitney Houston and Oprah Winfrey never failed to bring audiences laughs. Debra is a popular Black American actress, writer and comedian. She was part of the main cast of MADtv when the series took off in 1995 but left immediately after the eighth season in 2003.
Debra Wilson made the record as the first African American woman to star on MADtv. Since then, she has made several contributions as a voice to productions such as; Avatar, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Boondocks, Rigged Too! Hood vs. Evil, American Dad!, The Proud Family, and Family Guy

The actress was born in South Ozone Park, Queens, New York, on April 26, 1962, and grew up in New York, a city near her birthplace. There is currently no information on her family background or the identity of her parents, but it appears that her birth name was Debra Renee Wilson.
Debra Wilson received her early education at New York City’s Performing Arts High School where she graduated. She then went to Syracuse University to pursue studies while working in radio and television. During the 1980s, Debra worked as a preschool teacher at All Saints Church located in Sunnyside, Queens.
The actress then made her acting debut on the Apollo comedy hour set. She became a regular at the Uptown Comedy Club after her success with her debut role. She collaborated with Joan Rivers to organize “Can We Swap”, spokesperson for Burger King and “New York Undercover”. Before joining the cast of MADtv, Debra was part of the cast of “Let it be Me”, her first feature film.
The actress is an animal lover. she had shared her home with strange animals in the past. At one time she lived with a couple of constrictor snakes, she also had two cats and two scorpions, all of which are long deceased. She currently has a Columbian Tegu lizard which she has called Lizard as a companion.
