Desmond Harrington was born on October 19, 1976. His parents are Mary Harrington and Michel Harrington. The Georgia-born boy soon moved in with his parents in the Bronx, New York. There he spent most of the first years of his life. Harrington has an American nationality and is ethnically white.

For his education, Desmond attended a university in Manhattan. However, Desmond did not graduate because he wanted to pursue acting from a young age. After leaving school, Desmond began working as a landscaper, day laborer, and cold caller at a brokerage.
