Dolores Heredia is a Mexican actress and activist, born on October 6, 1966, in La Paz, Baja California Sur. She is the seventh of ten children of the marriage formed between a sailor from Guanajuato and a photographer from Sinaloa. She spent her childhood in the quiet town of La Paz, where she would discover her passion for acting when she took theater classes. By the mid-1980s, Dolores moved to Mexico City, where she entered the UNAM University Theater Center. In 1988, the actress would found, with other schoolmates, the theater group called “The Faun”, testing her talents with works by Shakespeare. She would soon begin to be a recognized theater actress, which led her to participate in different organizations such as the Company of the Theater Experimentation Center, in addition to collaborating with the Cinematographic Training Center, as well as joining the National Theater Company. Dolores would debut on the big screen with Pueblo de Madera (1990), and then work in films such as El Patrullero (1991), Pueblo Viejo (1993), Vagabunda (1194) and Dos Crimes (1994), where, in the role of Lucero , would be one of the actresses to follow in the so-called “new Mexican cinema.” With more than 70 credits in her career, Heredia is one of the most respected Mexican actresses in the country and abroad, where she has also known how to venture into international projects, which would lead her to serve as president of the Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences (AMACC) from 2015 to 2017.
