Dominic Solanke is an English football star who plays in the English Premier League (EPL) for Liverpool FC as well as the English senior football team. The striker started his career as a football player when he was under 10 years old and has grown steadily. He went on to play for clubs such as Chelsea FC and Vitesse, as well as the national team, England, at almost every level.

Dominic Solanke Bio

Born Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell in Reading, England, the young and tactical striker was born and raised in England. He attended Brighton Hill Community School for his education and focused on football.

Like many other football stars you know, Solanke started playing football when he was a kid. And in order to further his career, he joined Chelsea youth club in 2004 and stayed there for 10 years before being promoted to senior player. In order to help him gain more experience, he was sent on loan to Vitesse where he remained until 2016.

Shortly after his return, he moved to Merseyside when he was signed by Liverpool FC after an intense drama that saw him exiled from Chelsea because he wanted to leave the club. Before leaving, he was Chelsea’s youngest player to feature in the Champions League having made his debut in a 6-0 win over NK Maribor when he came on as a 75th-minute substitute for Oscar.

In a team with the likes of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane, getting a top spot in the squad has admittedly been tough for him, but he’s still done well so far at Anfield.

Looking at his international career, Dominic’s style of play appealed to both Nigeria and England and both countries wanted him to play for them as he was eligible to play for either one. Fortunately for England and unfortunately for Nigeria, he decided to play for the country of his birth rather than his father’s, as he had been playing for England long before Nigeria came for him.

His first call to play for England was at the Under-16 level in 2012. The following year, he was invited to join the Under-17 team. He was very impressive, registering 11 goals in 14 games, helping the team win the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

After also playing for the Under-18 and Under-19 teams, he was invited to join the England Under-20 squad in 2016, becoming part of the invitational squad to the FIFA Cup. FIFA U-20 World 2017 in South Korea. In the tournament won by England, Solanke was named the best player of the World Cup, scoring 4 goals in six games.

Solanke’s hope of playing for the Three Lions came true after he was called up to play for the England national team in 2017. He made his debut in a friendly against Brazil. Although he couldn’t make it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, there’s no denying that the former Chelsea player has a future with the Three Lions.

Parents

Dominic Solanke isn’t one of those players who know a lot about him, as he prefers to keep his life almost completely out of the public eye. Nevertheless, it is known that he has a Nigerian father and an English mother.

Without knowing too much about his biological stepfather, Dominic Solanke seems to be the one who played a bigger role in his life as he portrayed when he wanted to leave Chelsea Football Club.

While it’s easy to have people think he’s related to Tomiwa Solanke, who is yet another player in England with Nigerian roots, the two have no blood connection.

Height, weight and body measurements

At the time he signed for Liverpool, the talented striker was tipped by many to succeed under Jurgen Klopp as he has everything the manager needs in the striker including intelligence, pace and build.

That said, he has a good height and build that’s good for a footballer. In numbers, the Reds star is 6ft 2in (1.87m) tall and weighs 165lbs (75kg). His overall measurements are not provided, although judging by his appearance you can be sure that he is not only in good shape, but has what you can call good measurements.
