For those who don’t know, Don Rickles is no more, he died on April 6, 2017 at the age of 90 at his Beverly Hills home in Los Angeles, California. His publicist, Paul Shefrin, who broke the news of his departure, revealed that the cause of his death was kidney failure.
Prior to the comedian’s death, he was working on a scripted Dinner Donation series to have him interview celebrities at the best restaurants in Los Angeles.
Although Rickles spent the last days of his life in California, he was born on May 8, 1926 in Queens, New York as Donald Jay Rickles. He was raised in the northwest quarter of the city. Her father, Max Rickles, who worked as an insurance agent, came to the United States from Kaunas with his parents in 1903. Upon his death, Don Rickles was survived by his family which includes his wife, Barbara Sklar; his daughter Mindy Mann and his grandchildren, Ethan and Harrison Mann. Rickles and Barbara married in 1965 after meeting Don’s agent and fell in love.
Apart from Mindy, they had one son, Larry Rickles. He was a television comedy producer and writer until his death in December 2011. Larry was just 41 when he died.
