Andre Romelle Young chose the name Dr. Dre has been since he started his music career in the early ’80s. He was born the first child of Theodore and Verna Young on February 18, 1965 in Compton, California. His father Theodore was a singer and a member of an R&B singing group. Troubles in paradise began for Dre when his parents separated in 1972.
