Emmanuel Macron needs no introduction. He won the admiration and respect of the whole world when he became President of France at the age of 39. This was 2017 and the feat made him one of the world’s youngest leaders ever. What made his performance even more remarkable was the fact that he didn’t run on the platform of either of the major political parties in his country. Rather, he founded his own political movement, En Marche!, on which he rose to power. This incredible feat, coupled with his young age, earned him praise from far and wide. Many publications in France called him “Le Kid”. Find out more about him here…

Age, early life and background information

Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frederick Macron was born on 21. December 1977 in Amiens, a city in northern France. He comes from a famous family. His mother Francoise is a doctor and his father Jean-Michel is a university professor. He has two younger siblings, Laurent and Estelle.

Emmanuel Macron began his secondary education at a private Jesuit school in Amiens. He graduated from the prestigious Lycee Henri-IV in Paris. For his university education, Macron studied at some of the most prestigious institutions in his home country. He studied International Policy and Public Service at Science Po, a renowned university in France. In 2001 he obtained a Masters in Public Policy from the same institution. The future president then obtained another master’s degree in philosophy from Paris’s Nanterre University.

Emmanuel Macron then went to the elite EcoleNationale d’Administration (ENA). ENA is the breeding ground for most French leaders. Macron graduated in 2004 and then worked at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Four years later he left public service and joined Rothschild and Cie Banque in 2008. There he distinguished himself and quickly rose to the rank of Managing Director. Macron left the institution in 2012 after four years in office.

He was subsequently appointed senior official in the President ofFrancoise Hollande’s administration that same year. Macron was appointed Minister of Economy and Finance in 2014. 2016 was an eventful year for the young politician. In April 2016 he founded his political movement En Marche in his hometown of Amiens. In August of the same year he resigned from the government and officially announced his candidacy in November. He would win the presidential election on May 7, 2017. Seven days later he was sworn in as the youngest President in French history.

His capital

Emmanuel Macron has an estimated net worth of $31.5 million. He earned most of his wealth from a lucrative career as an investment banker. For example, he reportedly made $3.8 million arranging Nestlé’s acquisition of the baby food division of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. The deal took place in 2012 and was valued at $12 billion. As President of France, Macron makes just over $200,000 a year.

Family – Emmanuel Macron wife and children

Emmanuel Macron is married to Brigitte Trogneux. Their marriage was a subject of great interest. This is because Macron is 24 years younger than his wife. Their love story reads like a Hollywood plot. They first met when Macron was 15 years old. Brigitte was 39 at the time and was a theater and theater teacher at his secondary school. In fact, Macron and Brigitte’s daughter were in the same class.

They slowly attracted and started a relationship when Macron was 18 years old. His parents did not agree and sent him to Paris to complete his secondary education. This was a futile move as it failed to separate the lovebirds. Brigitte later divorced her husband and came to Paris to join Macron. They tied the knot in 2007. Their love continues to grow and the President credits his wife with making him what he is today. The couple have no children together. Nevertheless, Brigitte has three children from her first marriage. She also has seven grandchildren.

Is he gay?

In the run-up to the elections, there were rumors that Macron was having an extramarital gay affair with a Radio-France executive. This led to speculation that he was gay. Some even said that his wife is just a beard – a woman who agrees to date a gay man so people don’t know he’s gay. However, Macron remained unperturbed by such allegations and dismissed them as false.

Size – how tall is he?

Physically, Emmanuel Macron is of average height. But when it comes to his performances, he is indeed a giant. He is 1.75 m tall and weighs 73 kg. His beautiful appearance is rounded off by blue eyes and brown hair. There is no doubt that his telegenic and charismatic looks helped his political career.
