BIOGRAPHY
Born to a German mother and Croatian father, Eric Banadinovich became known in Australia as a comedian. After practicing for several years in cabaret, in 1993 he joined the team of Full Frontal , a humorous show of which he quickly became one of the pillars thanks to his talents as an imitator. Appearing on screen in 1997 in the comedy The Castle , he completely changed register by lending his features to a formidable criminal in the thriller Chopper by Andrew Dominik , a unanimously acclaimed performance, which earned him the Australian Film Critics prize. Circle and the Australian Film Institute .
Standing out in Hollywood in muscular cinema, Eric Bana plays one of the elite Delta soldiers, alongside young guns Josh Hartnett and Ewan McGregor , in Black Hawk Down by Ridley Scott (2002); slips into the skin of Dr. Banner, aka Hulk in Ang Lee ‘s adaptation of the famous comic book (2003), before playing the role of Prince Hector, one of the heroes of Troy (2004), rereading of the epic of Homer by Wolfgang Petersen . Increasingly in demand ( Lucky you by Curtis Hanson ), the actor was entrusted by Steven Spielberg with the main role of Munich (2006), that of a Mossad agent torn between a sense of duty and guilt. Eclectic in his choices, he is able to play King Henry VIII in the historical drama Two Sisters for a King , and remain faithful to the genre that revealed him with Funny People . In 2009, he made a new foray into the universe of SF with Star Trek , a variation of the famous franchise revised and corrected by JJ Abrams . The same year he lent his voice to the character of Damian Popodopolous in Mary and Max. an animated film by Adam Elliot . Also in 2009, he directed his first feature film, Love the Beast , a documentary in which he reveals his love of cars and auto racing. We also find him alongside Rachel McAdams in Out of Time by Robert Schwentke where he plays a man with a gift that makes him travel through time without warning.
In 2011, Eric Bana was the protective, combat-savvy father in Joe Wright ‘s original Hanna . Then he played a mad robber alongside Olivia Wilde in Cold Blood by Stefan Ruzowitzky in 2013. 2014 was a busy year for the actor since he appeared in no less than three films: he returned to war in Blood and tears by Peter Berg , slips into the skin of a reckless lawyer for Closed Circuit and that of a police officer for the needs of the horror thriller D deliver us from evil .
