In terms of his personal life, Howe married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Joffa, in 1953, and they had four children: Marty, Mark, Cathy, and Murray. Marty and Mark also followed in their father’s footsteps and played professional hockey. Colleen passed away in 2009, after 56 years of marriage.
