It was by playing the luscious Bettie Page in a biopic (2005) by Mary Harron and by performing in the independent romantic comedy Puccini and I (2006) that the beauty found her way back to the studios. Another female lead in 2007 in the romantic drama The Valley of Light inaugurated a prolific year for the actress, where she first turned to comedy in The Ten , a series of short films parodying the biblical episode of the Ten Commandments, alongside Adrien Brody and Paul Rudd , then in American Loser . The same year, she starred in the western 3h10 for Yuma by James Mangold where she played the disillusioned wife of one of the two main characters, a soldier returning from the Civil War who incited the family, against her advice, to settle in a dilapidated ranch in the middle of a desert plain.
