For over a decade and counting, English-born actress Imogen Poots has continued to deliver stellar acting performances and has proven herself to be a top talent in various genres of film and television. She began her career on the small screen but starred in the 2007 horror film 28 Weeks Later, in which she portrayed Tammy.

Imogen Poots Biography (Age)
Imogen Gay Poots was born on June 3, 1989 in Hammersmith, West London. She was born to an Irish father, Trevor Poots, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and an English mother, Fiona Goodall, from Bolton, England. Imogen was raised alongside a brother, an older brother called Alex. She was educated at Bute House Girls’ Preparatory School in Brook Green, Hammersmith, and also attended Queen’s Gate School in South Kensington. The actress completed her secondary education at Latymer High School in Hammersmith.
Growing up, Poots’ biggest aspiration was to become a veterinarian, however, that all changed after he passed out while attending a vet operation. She also attended a weekend improv workshop organized by a local theater troupe and this sparked her interest in acting. In 2008, she was given the opportunity to study at the Courtauld Institute of Art after her excellent performance in the bachelor’s degree, but she deferred admission for two years due to the demands of her budding acting career.

Imogen Poots recorded her first screen appearance on an episode of the long-running British medical series. Victim (2004) and she made her big screen debut with a minor role in the political thriller, V for Vendetta (2006). Still a teenager, she landed her breakthrough role in the Tammy Harris horror film 28 Weeks Later (2007) starring Robert Carlyle,
Rose Byrne and Idris Elba.
After the success of 28 Weeks Later, Poots’ career accelerated considerably and she featured in several British and American films. She appeared in Cracks (2009), Chat (2010), Night of Dread (2011), Greetings from Tim Buckley (2012), among other films. She starred as Debbie Raymond in the Paul Raymond biopic The Gaze of Love biopic (2013) and also appeared in the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: It’s All On My Side (2013) in the lead role of Linda Keith.
The talented actress appeared in the comedy film, That Awkward Moment (2014) starring Zac Efron and Michael B. Jordan. She was also featured in the highly successful action film Need for Speed (2014) in which she played the female lead role of Julia Maddon. You’ll find Imogen Poots alongside Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman in the romance film, Knight of Cups (2015).
