BIOGRAPHY
Jack Andrew Lowden was born on June 2, 1990 in Chelmsford, Essex, England, United Kingdom.

He received a BA in Acting from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow in 2011. Lowden played Cammy , the title character in the Olivier Award-winning play Black Watch , staged at the National Theater of Scotland. The work is an incisive and contemporary look at the harsh reality of war and depicts the soldiers of Scotland’s legendary and historic Black Watch regiment serving in Iraq. The production traveled to London (Barbican), Glasgow, Aberdeen and Belfast, and in the United States to New York, Washington, Chicago, Austin and Chapel Hill.

From May 9, 2012 to January 5, 2013, Lowden starred as Scottish runner and missionary Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire , the stage adaptation of the film of the same name. In 2012 he appeared in the ITV drama Mrs Biggs as Alan Wright. In 2014, Lowden received the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and also the Ian Charleson Award, for his performance as Oswald in Richard Eyre’s adaptation ofIbsen’s Ghosts .

In 2017 he plays a Royal Air Force fighter pilot inChristopher Nolan’s World War II film Dunkirk . And he also played Morrissey in a biopic of the singer titled England Is Mine , written and directed by Mark Gill.

In October 2017 he was cast, along with Bill Nighy, to star in the comedy, Made in Italy , written and directed by James D’Arcy.
